People using Facebook and Instagram faced problems logging in as Facebook & Instagram is down globally. Many users have been kicked out from their own accounts & are facing log-in issues. Some couldn’t refresh Instagram pages, and others requested password changes.
A spokesperson from Meta acknowledged that the company is aware that some users are having difficulty accessing its services.
Many users faced login problems, getting logged out from both platforms. Issues included difficulty refreshing Instagram pages and requests for password changes. Around 8:30 pm on Tuesday, users began encountering disruptions, with messages like “Log in again; session expired; couldn’t refresh feed” appearing on the apps.
Downdetector.com, a website tracking outages, indicated tens of thousands of reports for Facebook and Instagram outages on Tuesday. Facebook had over 300,000 outage reports, while Instagram had more than 20,000. YouTube users also started experiencing similar problems.
Meta’s status dashboard revealed issues with the WhatsApp Business API, with around 200 outage reports on Downdetector for WhatsApp. Meta spokesperson Andy Stone acknowledged the troubles, stating, “We’re aware people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on this now,” in a post on X social media.
Numerous users shared their experiences on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), expressing concerns about the outage.
One user wrote, “Is meta down or am I being hacked? 😂 my instagram isn’t loading and my facebook is also “session logged out”. Another said, “I thought my Facebook and Instagram got hacked for a second.”
